SAN DIEGO — Abbott Medical Optics announced the launch of its Micro-Implantation Cataract Suite in a press release here.

The Micro-Implantation Cataract Suite gives surgeons the ability to perform an entire microincisional cataract procedure with one set of products designed specifically for that surgery.

The suite consists of the Unfolder Platinum 1 series implantation system, Tecnis one-piece IOLs, Healon viscoelastics, the Whitestar Signature phacoemulsification system and other micro-implantation surgery accessory instruments.

"The launch of Abbott's Micro-Implantation Cataract Suite represents another key advancement toward better patient outcomes in cataract surgery," Roger F. Steinert, MD, said in the press release. "The combined benefits of Abbott's market-leading products are even more prominent now that they are delivered throughout a complete micro-implantation procedure."
