AMO, Bausch & Lomb reach phaco system patent agreement
SANTA ANA, Calif. Advanced Medical Optics has entered into a patent agreement with Bausch & Lomb regarding the use of AMO's peristaltic pump fluidics technology for phacoemulsification systems, as well as all of its foreign counterparts, according to a press release from AMO.
Under the agreement, Bausch & Lomb will pay AMO a royalty for using its U.S. patent, titled "Fluid Management Systems with Vertex Chamber" (Patent No. 6,059,765).
All other terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, the release said.
