FORT WORTH, Texas — In response to a patent infringement lawsuit over phacoemulsification technology filed earlier this month against Alcon by Advanced Medical Optics, Alcon issued a statement calling the allegations “without merit.”

AMO alleges Alcon, based here, infringed on phaco technology used in the AMO Sovereign line when Alcon introduced its Inifiti and AdvanTec Legacy systems.
