Advanced Medical Optics reports $261.4 million in second quarter sales
SANTA ANA, Calif. — Advanced Medical Optics' total product net sales increased 1.7% compared with the second quarter of 2006, reaching $261.4 million, the company announced in a press release.
Compared with the second quarter 2006, cataract and implant sales increased 4.3% to $140.2 million. Total IOL sales increased 8% to $81.3 million, with refractive IOL sales increasing 21.8% to $14.5 million.
Also compared with the second quarter 2006, laser vision correction sales increased 91.2% to $102.1 million, with procedure and related sales increasing 74.9% to $63.6 million. Within the United States, AMO's LASIK procedure volumes increased 3% and its femtosecond laser procedure volumes increased 36.6%, according to the release.
Eye care sales declined 72.5% to $19 million for the quarter compared with the second quarter 2006.
For the first half of 2007, net sales increased 3.6% compared with the first half of 2006, reaching $513.1 million.
AMO also reported a second-quarter dividend loss of $2.78 per share. In the same period last year, the company reported a loss of $0.04 per share, according to the release.
