ACTIONed announces new course series on electronic health records

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The ophthalmology e-learning website ACTIONed, in partnership with the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology, is launching a new continuing education course series on electronic health records, according to a press release.

The course series, which was created through an unrestricted educational grant from Compulink Business Systems, offers participants the chance to learn about this newer area of practice management, as well as the effects of recent government legislation on the health care industry. Participants also receive continuing education credits.

"As ophthalmic practices across the country focus on implementing EHR systems and qualifying for the EHR incentives this year, it's the perfect time to support the front line staff with this type of in-depth education and training," Link Wilson, president and CEO of Compulink Business Systems, said in the release.

The simulation-based series will examine how EHRs are implemented within clinical practice, emphasizing their significance in streamlining documentation and case management as well as enhancing patient care.

The first course is available now at www.actioned.org.
