AAO members choose new president-elect, others
SAN FRANCISCO — Allan D. Jensen, MD, will be the American Academy of Ophthalmology's president-elect in 2003 and president in 2004, according to a news release announcing AAO election results. Dr. Jensen is currently in practice at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and has held several positions within the AAO over the past 10 years.
Gary Schwartz, MD, was elected to serve as an AAO trustee-at-large. Dr. Schwartz is in private practice in Lake Elmo, Minn., and is a clinical professor of ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota.
Randolph Johnston, MD, was elected as the AAO senior secretary for advocacy. Dr. Johnston, a retina specialist, is a member of the clinical faculty of the University of Wyoming Family Practice Program and the University of Utah Department of Ophthalmology.
Academy members also ratified online election voting, to commence with the 2003 elections.
