Amar Agarwal, MS, FRCS, FRCOphth, was chosen by the International Society of Refractive Surgery as this year’s recipient of the Casebeer Lecture Award.

Prof. Agarwal will be presented with the award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the research and development of refractive surgery, during the joint meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Middle East Africa Council of Ophthalmology in Chicago, U.S.A., in October.

Prof. Agarwal is the director of Dr. Agarwal’s Group of Eye Hospitals in Chennai, India, and the secretary for the Intraocular Implant & Refractive Society. He is also a member of the Ocular Surgery News Asia-Pacific Edition Editorial Board, and the author of several books published by SLACK Incorporated, publisher of Ocular Surgery News.
