Ocular Surgery News introduces new regional editions

Hiroko Bissen-Miyajima, MD

As of this issue, Ocular Surgery News Europe/Asia-Pacific Edition has now become two separate editions – Ocular Surgery News Europe Edition and Ocular Surgery News Asia-Pacific Edition. I am honored to accept the position of Chairperson of the Editorial Board of the OSN Asia-Pacific Edition.

Ocular Surgery News reaches more than 80,000 readers worldwide, of which half are located within Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Each edition has more than 20,000 readers and the new regional editions will enable more benefits to the readers in the corresponding countries.

The OSN Asia-Pacific Edition will cover 10 countries and will offer more Asia-Pacific coverage, more in-depth articles, as well as the top international news stories for ophthalmologists around the world. Another exciting feature of the OSN Asia-Pacific Edition is the regional focus pages devoted to the news exclusive for ophthalmologists in China, India and Japan. Both the China and Japan pages are translated in Chinese and Japanese, respectively, and are more reader friendly.

The OSN Asia-Pacific Edition will bring the most updated information from international meetings mostly before the publication in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to these new insights, the new regional edition allows space for the articles specific to the respective countries and the timely topics presented in the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, we have established a new OSN Asia-Pacific Editorial Board and we are all excited to work together for the new edition.

We welcome any suggestions and questions and we look forward to hearing from you.
