Bioventus recently launched the next generation of its EXOGEN Ultrasound Bone Healing System.

The updated EXOGEN system, currently available in the U.S., Europe, Canada and Australia, uses safe, low-intensity pulsed ultrasound to help stimulate the bone healing process. The system has an 86% heal rate for fractures not achieving union on their own and provides 38% faster healing of indicated fresh fractures, according to a company press release. EXOGEN also includes a variety of new compliance capabilities, such as a treatment tracking calendar and patient treatment history, as well as a new app for smartphone users.

“As health care continues to evolve, focus on patient compliance, satisfaction and quality of care will be even more important drivers,” Allison London Brown, vice president of global marketing for Bioventus, said in the press release. “EXOGEN is a great solution to meet these requirements as it assists patients with fractures to help heal more rapidly.”
