OsteoMed launches ankle plating system

OsteoMed recently announced the launch of its new ExtremiLOCK Ankle Plating System.

An ankle fracture system intended to provide solutions for simple and complex fractures of the distal tibia and fibula, ExtremiLOCK features double-lead screw technology in locking, non-locking and cannulated screw options. All of the system’s components are contained within one instrument tray, including six different fracture plating options, seven different screw fixation options and color-coded instrumentation for easier use, according to a company press release.

“The ExtremiLOCK Ankle Plating System represents a significant and exciting addition to the Small Bone Orthopedic product portfolio. This new system not only provides surgeons with an array of innovative ankle fracture solutions, but also further enhances our ability to compete in the small bone orthopedic, lower extremity market,” Dave Kelly, vice president of Small Bone Orthopedics, said in the press release. “The ExtremiLOCK Ankle Plating System represents one of many product launches scheduled for 2014 with a strategic focus on the foot and ankle community.”
