  • The hospital also ranked among the top 20 in the Best Hospitals Honor Roll.

NYU Langone was again the top hospital in the United States for neurology and neurosurgery, according to the latest annual Best Hospitals Survey issued by U.S. News & World Report.

The New York City-based health system topped the 2024-2025 national listing for the third consecutive year, based on its performance in treating conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and stroke.

“At NYU Langone Health, our culture of exceptionalism continues to deliver the best outcomes for our patients, with one consistently high standard of care across all of our locations,” Robert I. Grossman, MD, CEO of NYU Langone and dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, said in a press release. “I am so proud of each and every one of our employees for helping deliver these fantastic results.”

The following medical centers were cited as the best in the field across the country:

  • NYU Langone Hospitals
  • Mayo Clinic – Rochester, Minnesota
  • UCSF Health – UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco
  • New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia and Cornell
  • Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore

NYU Langone also placed in a four-way tie as tops in both the state of New York and the NYC metro area in addressing neurological conditions alongside New York Presbyterian, Mount Sinai Hospital and North Shore University Hospital at Northwell Health.

The health care system was additionally named as one of the top 20 overall hospitals in the country according to the survey, although U.S. News no longer utilizes numerical ranking for this purpose.

“Choosing the right hospital to match your needs shouldn't be a guessing game,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, said in a separate release. “The 2024-2025 edition of Best Hospitals provides patients and their families clear, data-driven insights on hospital performance and empowers Americans to choose the facility best suited to their specific health care needs.”
