“We are incredibly proud to remain the very best pediatric hospital in Texas and to be recognized among the top pediatric hospitals in the country,” Debra Sukin, PhD, president and CEO of Texas Children’s Hospital, said in a hospital press release. “These outstanding rankings are a reflection of the hard work, dedication and expertise of our entire team. I am immensely grateful for the commitment to clinical excellence, teaching and life changing research that makes Texas Children’s the world’s leading pediatric and women’s health care organization and the No. 1 children’s hospital in Texas.”

Scores were based on clinical outcomes, best practices and the quality of hospital resources related to patient care, according to the ranking methodology. For the 2024 to 2025 list, U.S. News & World Report partnered with research and consulting firm RTI International to collect data from 108 children’s hospitals and consulted numerous pediatric specialists.

“When confronted with the daunting task of selecting a hospital for their child's specialized medical needs, parents and caregivers can use U.S. News' evaluation of pediatric hospital performance as a valuable resource,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at the publication, said in a separate release.

Other high-ranking pediatric nephrology centers included Boston Children's Hospital, landing second on the list; Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in the third spot; Nationwide Children's Hospital in Ohio at fourth; and Seattle Children's Hospital closing out the top five centers. Texas Children’s Hospital also earned a place on the 2024 to 2025 Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll for centers that rank highly in various specialties.
