The initiative is open to ANNA members interested in nursing, clinical settings, education, research and leadership. Backed by a council of established nephrology nurses, the program will sponsor the inaugural class with formal FANNA designation, networking and mentorships, according to the release.

“The fellowship represents the highest level of professional recognition within our organization,” Nancy Colobong Smith, ANNA National President, said in the release. “We are excited to launch this program to acknowledge the dedication and impact of nephrology nurses who have gone above and beyond in their service to patients and the nursing community. This fellowship honors their contributions and inspires others to strive for excellence in nephrology nursing.”

An application portal will open from October 1, 2024, to November 30, 2024. The first class will be inducted at ANNA’s 2025 National Symposium in May in Portland, Oregon.
