DaVita has named Madhu Narasimhan as its new chief information officer, effective June 3, according to a press release. Narasimhan will oversee technology innovation.

“We’ve built a strong technology foundation and now we’re ready to accelerate our digital transformation,” Javier Rodriguez, CEO for DaVita, said in the release. “Under Madhu’s leadership, we’re well-positioned to drive holistic, patient-centric care that’s enabled by a robust technology platform.”

In addition to leading implementation of the health technology platforms for the company, Narasimhan will head up enterprise priorities such as the proprietary cloud-based patient data platform Center Without Walls, which can streamline workflows and data access.

Narasimhan enters the position with almost 2 decades of digital experience and knowledge in integrated technology, product management and strategic delivery, according to the release. The University of California, Riverside, alumni previously served as global head of innovation at Wells Fargo and headed product, technology and enterprise clinical systems at Kaiser Permanente.

“I’m excited to leverage previous experiences and DaVita’s industry-leading technology to help streamline the care experience for patients with some of the most complex care needs in our health care system,” Narasimhan, who was also one of 20 technology leaders invited by U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris to a discuss AI, said in the release. “I look forward to helping lead transformations across DaVita to better integrate data and create efficient workflows that foster greater collaboration across sites of care.”
