Healthmap Solutions Inc. has raised $100 million to advance its kidney disease-focused population health management business, nearly tripling the size of a spring 2022 funding round, according to a press release.
Eric Reimer, Healthmap CEO, said in the release that the company is “excited to have ample resources to maintain our rapid growth.”
“We believe that Healthmap has built a differentiated approach to managing chronic kidney disease,” Reimer said. “It is rewarding to see the market’s enthusiasm for our program and the positive impact we are having on patients' lives.”
Healthmap provides technology to identify kidney disease early and recommend interventions, as well as teams that help providers “maintain access, minimize disruption and deliver personalized whole-person care,” according to the release. Its approach focuses on in-home dialysis and transplant while lowering costs for health plans and provider groups.
The $100 million investment will help Healthmap manage “newly awarded business” and support “the growing portion” of its covered lives contracted under capitated agreements.
Healthmap said it is contracted to manage more than $3 billion in health care spending through risk-based arrangements. The company said it is serving more than 160,000 patients with kidney disease, adding that it expects to begin generating earnings this year.
