American Society of Nephrology names new president

The American Society of Nephrology has announced that Michelle A. Josephson, MD, FASN, will be the society’s next president.
“It’s an exciting time to be ASN’s incoming president,” Josephson said in a society press release. “I’m truly honored to be in this role as we continue to see numerous advances and increased awareness related to kidney health with ASN at the forefront.”

On Jan. 1, 2023, Josephson will replace current president Susan E. Quaggin, MD, FASN, as leader of ASN’s membership of more than 20,000 international health professionals.
Josephson previously served as chair of the Transplant Advisory Group, the Policy and Advocacy Committee, and the ASN Early Program on Kidney Transplantation. She is also currently president-elect of the ASN Council.
