BOSTON — In this video from the National Kidney Foundation Spring Clinical Meetings, Bob Nagy, vice-president of sales for AvoMD, discusses how its clinical decision support platform is making guidelines available at point-of-care.

AvoMD is partnering with Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) to transform guidelines, beginning with KDIGO’s Blood Pressure in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Guideline, into clinical consults available at the bedside using standalone web/mobile apps and electronic health records.

“We work with organizations like KDIGO to bring evidence-based medicine to the clinician,” Nagy told Healio. “Our founders ... realized there was a need to bring the medical evidence [to] their hands, at the point of care. [The founders] brought this to the public and realized there was a lot of interest.

“This is the first of many guidelines we will digitize for KDIGO,” Nagy said.

The KDIGO/AvoMD guidelines will be available free on AvoMD’s web and mobile apps.

“KDIGO is excited to partner with AvoMD, whose cutting-edge platform will serve as an ideal place to access KDIGO CKD Guidelines,” John Davis, CEO of KDIGO, said in a press release. “Our shared aim is to enable clinicians to easily and readily access the latest science and clinical recommendations. Expanding access to KDIGO Guidelines in this way will, we believe, translate into improved patient care.”
