Dialyze Direct announced its acquisition of Renew Dialysis, a provider of on-site dialysis in skilled nursing facilities in the U.S., from Saber Healthcare Group.
Co-founded by Saber Healthcare Group in Cleveland, Renew Dialysis serves at eight locations in Ohio and one in Virginia.
“Renew Dialysis is a patient-focused provider and we decided that Dialyze Direct is the right partner to take our patient care model to the next level due to their leadership in the skilled nursing facilities home dialysis market, their extensive hospital and payer relationships and their national scale. This will benefit our patients and meet the unique needs of today’s underserved market,” Nola McMullen, chief operating officer of Renew Dialysis, said in the press release.
The company intends to bring on-site dialysis services by Dialyze Direct to a greater number of facilities and states in the U.S. The model is best for older patients with complicated comorbidities, but has helped patients of all ages with end-stage kidney disease, according to the press release.
“We are confident that Renew Dialysis’ patients will receive the highest caliber of care from Dialyze Direct,” Mike Demagall, vice president of population health at Saber Healthcare Group, said in the release. “We continually look for ways to enhance and improve the treatment provided to residents, and we believe Dialyze Direct is the best choice to provide our residents with superior on-site dialysis services.”
