North American operations are now 100% powered by renewable energy, according to a press release.

This goal was set in 2019 when DaVita contracted with Longroad Energy to build a wind farm and solar farm in Texas.

"As we celebrate this milestone toward a more sustainable Village, we're encouraged to continue the work,” Javier Rodriguez, CEO for DaVita, said in release. “That's why we're expanding our renewable commitment across our global operations, helping to create healthy communities around the world."

According to the press release, DaVita has since reduced its carbon used per dialysis treatment by 19% compared a 2015 baseline and upgraded 1,200 dialysis centers with LED lighting, among other energyefficient decisions.

DaVita intends to be 100% renewable at all operations by 2025.
