VIDEO: Tackling racial inequity, attracting trainees during ‘an exciting time in nephrology’
Linda F. Fried, MD, MPH, FASN, co-chair of ASN Kidney Week Education Committee, discussed the ASN Kidney Week presidential address on tackling racial inequities and exciting medical professionals during “an exciting time in nephrology.”
With so many emerging treatments in CKD, Fried talked about the focus on making nephrology an attractive field, which American Society of Nephrology President Anupam Agarwal, MD, FASN, explored in his presidential address. Agarwal discussed how to address racial inequalities and gender issues, excite the workforce, support international medical graduates so they can study in the U.S. and loan forgiveness, according to Fried.
“I really would encourage people to take a look at it — it was a very inspiring talk,” Fried said.
