Below is a listing of some new products and product updates released to the renal community in 2020.
Baxter Healthcare has released the Hemodialysis (HDx) enabled by Theranova, a new dialysis therapy for patients with end-stage renal disease. The Theranova dialyzer’s medium-cut-off membrane offers superior removal of conventional/large middle molecular (500 Da to 45,000 Da) uremic toxins compared to traditional hemodialysis, the company said. With HDx therapy, efficient removal of these toxins may improve patient-reported kidney disease quality of life outcomes including symptom burden, restless leg syndrome criteria, uremic pruritus and dialysis recovery time.

The CKD 4 to 5 booklet also includes treatment options for end-stage renal disease.
