NKF receives AARP innovation grant for CKD care proposal
The National Kidney Foundation has received one of two 2019 AARP Quality Measures Innovation Grants for its proposal of a performance measure to improve chronic kidney disease care for older adults.
According to a press release, “the grants support projects designed to develop and/or test innovative health quality and performance measures that can improve patient care.” The program was established in 2016 when AARP collaborated with OptumLabs, and grants are awarded every 2 years.
Along with access to OptumLabs’ dataset, the NKF will receive $150,000 for the development of its performance measure, which places additional focus on patients with CKD and diabetes.
