The HHS and the American Society of Nephrology have announced the members of the steering committee for KidneyX.

According to a press release, the committee is made of a diverse group of experts who will develop a 5-year strategy for KidneyX, carefully considering the kidney care areas that need the most growth and formulating ways to support future prize competitions. They will also be responsible for activities and outreach.

Some notable members include Kate Goodrich, MD, MHS, of CMS; Kevin Longino, of the National Kidney Foundation; and Emily Levy, MBA, of Synergy Partners.

“We have assembled a dream team of visionary health care, policy, technology and therapeutic leaders to shape the future of this bold initiative,” John R. Sedor, MD, FASN, of the Glickman Urology and Kidney Institute at Cleveland Clinic and chair of the steering committee, said in the release. “I look forward to working with this remarkable group to realize the full potential of KidneyX to disrupt kidney care as we know it and create a pathway for innovation that addresses the unmet needs of kidney patients, their caregivers and their families.”
