Eastern Nephrology Associates and Southeastern Nephrology Associates have merged and will operate as Eastern Nephrology Associates.

The merger, which was effective June 1, will allow more than 2,200 patients on dialysis to be managed along with kidney transplant patients. Facilities that the practice will operate include two vascular access centers, a fully integrated laboratory and a clinical trials program.

Patients throughout eastern North Carolina and South Carolina will be able to visit the company’s 10 offices and 25 dialysis centers in the area.

“We are excited to join together with our Southeastern Nephrology Associates colleagues. The merger helps to ensure that our kidney care patients will continue to be supported by a strong and vibrant independent physician practice. We are all committed to delivering high quality and cost-effective care options,” Carney Taylor, MD, president of Eastern Nephrology Associates, said.
