DaVita acquires Coastal Physicians Medical Group
A division of DaVita Inc. known as HealthCare Partners announced a merger with its long-term affiliate, southern California-based Coastal Physicians Medical Group, according to a press release from DaVita.
“Coastal Physicians Medical Group is a Latino-owned medical group serving our multi-cultural, multi-lingual community for over 30 years,” Luis Magdaleno, MD, president and CEO of Coastal Physicians Medical Group, said in the release. “For as long as we’ve been an affiliate of HealthCare Partners, both our groups have shared the common value of placing the patient’s interest first in a family oriented practice setting.”
Coastal Physicians Medical Group has six health care providers who have been working with patients in the South Bay area since the 1970s, according to the release. In 2017, the group was recognized for its leading clinical outcomes in controlling high blood pressure, osteoporosis management and breast cancer screening.
“We’re proud to welcome Coastal Physicians Medical Group, a very important partner of ours for the past 20 years, to HealthCare Partners,” Amar Desai, MD, president of HealthCare Partners in California, said in the release. “The addition of these highly successful providers will further strengthen our ability to provide high-quality care to patients in the South Bay area.”
