DaVita Kidney Care and its affiliated members directed donations of more than $2.1 million and volunteered 25,360 hours throughout the year, according to a company press release.

These accomplishments came about through several of the company’s programs, including DaVita Way of Giving, Village Service Days and the DaVita Village Network. Through the DaVita Way of Giving initiative, 2,100 dialysis centers across the nation raised more than $2.1 million.

The efforts expanded outside of the nephrology sector, with Village Service Days volunteers working alongside local community nonprofits associated with education, environmental care, animal welfare and disability services, among others. More than 800 dialysis centers have pledged to participate in a DaVita Way of Giving and a Village Service Day, according to the release.

DaVita employees also have the option of donating funds through voluntary payroll deductions or to make a one-time donation to the DaVita Village Network.

“We are proud of our teammates' commitment to and engagement in their communities,” Jim Greenwood, Wisdom vice president, said in the release. “Our teammates truly embody what it means to care for our patients, care for each other and care for our world.”
