American Renal Clinical Research Services (ARCRS) will be led by Ann Mooney, vice president of clinical research for the ARA, and Don Williamson, MD, executive vice president and chief operating officer.

“The purpose, and goal, of ARCRS is to continue to advance the care of ESRD patients,” said Mooney. “We do this by helping our physician partners who are capable of conducting clinical research feel well guided in the process and protected with the structure and oversight we provide.”

Mooney was previously at Frenova Renal Research, a subsidiary of Fresenius Medical Care, where she played a primary role in establishing the research services group nearly 20 years ago. In addition to extensive renal research experience, Mooney has held a variety of professional roles in the renal setting, including serving as an in-center and acute care staff nurse, as well as a clinic manager.

Williamson has more than 25 years of experience as a nephrologist and principal investigator, with extensive knowledge in developing and implementing clinical protocols, the company said in the release.
