Home Dialyzors United has elected Nichole Jefferson, a former kidney transplant recipient, as the new president of the organization. She joined the Home Dialyzors United board of directors in 2017.
“Nichole advocates for patients who are unable or unwilling to speak for themselves and will be an outstanding president of [Home Dialyzors United] HDU,” Denise Eilers, RN, BSN, a member of the Home Dialyzors United board of directors, said in a press release.
Jefferson was selected to join the National Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Advocacy Committee, representing the state of Iowa, in 2015. Additionally, she was invited to join the Kidney Health Initiative’s Patient and Family Partnership Council in 2016 and became a field ambassador for the American Association of Kidney Patients in 2017.
