If you are looking for a resource in the dialysis and transplant profession that offers access to products and services, as well as contact information for kidney care associations for patients and professionals, the publication in your hands should be your first choice. Welcome to Nephrology News & Issues’ 2018 Buyer’s Guide.

We have been publishing an annual guide for the kidney care community since the early 1990s, and each year we have made an effort to improve the product for readers. It is the only remaining product guide available in print for the nephrology profession.

Mark E. Neumann

With Nephrology News & Issues now part of Healio.com, we have access to expertise from many medical specialties. That background shows in our new online home, Healio.com/Nephrology, where our editorial contributions have expanded to professions like cardiology, endocrinology, internal medicine and infectious disease. That broader approach also extends to detailing the offerings of the industry and the products and services they sell.

Some key components of the 2018 guide include:

  • Simplified categories that make it easier to find the products and services available for the marketplace. These are presented in the guide in seven categories — business and clinical support services, staff and patient services, water testing, infection control, transplant, equipment, pharmaceutical manufacturers and supplies — that help you quickly find the companies you need, and the products offered. The categories also include a listing of organizations that can offer you and your patients access to important information and services, whether it be support groups for transplant recipients and donors or organizations that provide important information about research efforts; and
  • A complete listing of companies that offer dialysis- and transplant-related products and services. The directory section of the guide provides company name, address, telephone and email contact, and a website, presented in alphabetical order for easy searches.

Finally, as we have done in previous years, we include an updated listing of the End-Stage Renal Disease Networks in the United States. All 18 agencies are included, along with their states; contact information about the executive director and website information. Information for the listing is provided courtesy of the Forum of ESRD Networks.

In summary, we hope you find our 2018 edition of the Buyer’s Guide of value in looking for the products and services you need to successful manage your dialysis clinic or physician practice. We are always open to improving the guide. Send any comments to me directly (mneumann@healio.com), and we will be glad to consider them for our 2019 edition. Likewise, look for a new online version of the Buyer’s Guide, available at Healio.com/Nephrology/Buyers-Guide.
