Northwest Kidney Centers hires vice president of patient care services, chief nursing officer

Northwest Kidney Centers announced Elizabeth McNamara will be the new vice president of patient care services and the chief nursing officer.

“We are pleased to welcome Liz with her excellent background as a nurse and nursing leader,” Joyce F. Jackson, president and CEO of Northwest Kidney Centers, said in a press release. “We are fortunate that our top choice lives locally and knows the Seattle health care community. She has a passion for serving vulnerable people living with the challenges of chronic illness, deep experience in infection control and has worked closely on a day-to-day basis with nephrologists.”

According to the release, McNamara previously was the assistant administrator for patient care services at Harborview Medical Center. She has an extensive background in education and research as a former critical care nurse educator. In addition, she has published articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association.

McNamara has received awards such as the Transformational Pioneer Award from the Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives, the Qualis Health 2010 Award of Excellence and the University of Washington Nurse Excellence Award.
