Nonprofit dialysis provider Satellite Healthcare has awarded $800,000 in applied pragmatic clinical research grants to four academic clinical research programs. Each recipient will receive $200,000 over two years.

2017 grant recipients

Shuchi Anand, MD, Stanford University, A multi-center exercise intervention for persons transitioning to dialysis using the “exercise is medicine” framework.

Tara I, Chang, MD, MS, Stanford University, Timing of antihypertensive medications on key outcomes in hemodialysis: The TAKE-HOLD STUDY

In addition to funding grants, the program also includes an annual symposium where grant recipients share their findings, receive constructive feedback and participate in a free exchange of ideas with peers and members of the Satellite Healthcare Research Committee. The symposium offers the opportunity for past grant recipients to present their work and evaluate new research applications.
