KCP lends support to Azar’s appointment as HHS Secretary
Kidney Care Partners, a kidney coalition comprised of physician groups, providers, patient advocacy groups, manufacturers and researchers, has shown support for the U.S. Senate and House approval of Alex Azar as the new HHS Secretary.
Azar, who served at the agency under the George W. Bush administration and is a former Eli Lily executive, was approved by the Senate on Jan. 24 by a 55-43 vote.
“As Secretary Azar undertakes his new role, we are optimistic that important changes and improvements will be made to our health care system,” Allen Nissenson, MD, chair of KCP, said in a press release. “We look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with HHS to ensure access and quality care for those living with kidney disease.”
