Fresenius Medical Care Renal Therapies Group, LLC has initiated a voluntary recall of all Crit-Line blood chambers, due to reports of leaks in some of the products. The recall involves more than 22 million products distributed in the United States, Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, Great Britain, Netherlands, Norway, Mexico, Egypt, and Czech Republic.

"The company is investigating the cause of this issue to determine the proper steps necessary moving forward, and will notify our customers once the product is re-introduced to the market," a Fresenius spokesperson told NN&I

Removing the Crit-Line monitors from hemodialysis machines has no effect on the ability of these machines to perform hemodialysis. -by Rebecca Zumoff
