DaVita Kidney Care appoints Jeff Giullian to physician leadership team
DaVita Kidney Care has named Jeffrey Allen Giullian, MD, MBA, as a vice president of medical affairs and member of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, DaVita's physician leadership team.Giullian will hold the position of national group medical director and will also be the clinical leader for the Hospital Services Group.
"Jeff has been an integral and passionate leader in our educational program for chronic kidney disease patients," said Allen R. Nissenson, MD, FACP, chief medical officer for DaVita Kidney Care. "In addition, we expect his work with our hospital services group will identify ways we can better serve patients with acute kidney injury and help standardize practices in our hospital settings."
Giullian graduated from Vanderbilt University where he trained in transplantation and nephrology. He is currently a member of the board of directors for the Renal Physician Association (RPA). He is vice chairman of the healthcare payment committee for RPA and advisor to the American Medical Association's relative value unit utilization committee. In the past, he was chairman of medicine at a community hospital in Denver. Giullian has been a group medical director at DaVita since 2014 and was a practicing nephrologist for eight years in Denver.
Giullin’s aim is to improve best practices and work with others in the healthcare community to provide value based healthcare for all patients, DaVita said in a release.
