Services for Burrows-Hudson this weekend; ANNA creates memorial fund

A memorial service for nephrology nursing advocate Sally Burrows-Hudson, MSN, RN, CNN, who passed away on July 28 after a short illness, is set for this Saturday, Aug. 9 at 1:00 pm. The service is at the Lima and Campagna Sunnyvale Mortuary, 1315 Hollenbeck Avenue, Sunnyvale, Calif.

Burrows-Hudson had been an ardent supporter of improving the quality of dialysis through a long career in nephrology. She was a longtime member of NN&I’s Editorial Advisory Board and the main principal in Nephrology Clinical Solutions, which provides educational and consulting services to the renal community.

Family members have asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Burrows-Hudson's favorite charities, including the ANNA fund below.

In response to requests to contribute to a memorial fund for Burrows-Hudson, the American Nephrology Nurses Association has set up a fund in her name through its Nursing Economics Foundation to support nephrology nursing education and research. The Foundation was established in 1988 with the primary mission to provide nursing scholarships and support for nursing's future.

Tax-deductible contributions should be directed to "Nursing Economics Foundation – Sally Burrows-Hudson Memorial Fund."  ANNA will direct 100% of the contributions toward support of nephrology nursing education and research. Donations can be sent to the following address:
