Nonprofit dialysis provider Satellite Healthcare has named Dave Carter Chief Operations Officer.

In the role, created under new President and Chief Executive Officer Rick Barnett, Carter will lead the organization's key operational functions and work to fully integrate and coordinate Satellite's many programs and services. He brings with him extensive health care experience, most recently as Midwest Region President of Nashville, Tenn.-based SpecialtyCare. In previous roles, he was responsible for 53 dialysis centers as a Regional Vice President of the Renal Care Group and oversaw 209 dialysis centers as Senior Group Vice President of Fresenius.

“The goal of our newly established Chief Operations Officer position is to continue to improve accountability and teamwork at Satellite Healthcare. With Dave's deep and extensive leadership experience, he is perfectly positioned to help Satellite achieve its strategic goals and enhance its services to patients,” said Barnett. “We look forward to welcoming him to our team.”

Carter, who will relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area from Indianapolis, holds a Master of Science in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University.

The dialysis provider also promoted Rosemary Fox to Senior Vice President of Dialysis Services and Strategic Initiatives. Fox served 13 years in her previous positions as Chief Operating Officer of Satellite Healthcare and Vice President of Satellite Dialysis.

In her new role, Fox will be a member of Satellite Healthcare's senior executive team and will serve as the key point person for a number of strategic initiatives.

“Rosemary has played an integral role in helping Satellite get to where we are today, and we're delighted to have her step into a post where her positive impact will be even greater.” said Barnett. “Rosemary's track record of success speaks for itself, and I'm confident she will continue to help Satellite thrive.”

“I couldn't be more excited to be tasked with helping Satellite's executive team effectively navigate the complex challenges of the current healthcare environment,” said Fox. “For forty years Satellite has been a leader in delivering innovative and compassionate patient-centered care to people living with Chronic Kidney Disease, and we already have exciting plans underway to help make the next forty equally successful.”

Barnett also announced that Satellite would create a new Vice President of Physician Services position dedicated to enhancing relationships with physicians, as well as a Chief Innovation and Commercial Officer position to broaden Satellite's model of care to encompass a more comprehensive suite of kidney and chronic care services and expand services across the country.
