NxStage sees 13% increase in revenue from sales of its home hemodialysis machine

NxStage Medical Inc. reported a 13% increase in revenue for the second quarter of 2014, exceeding the top end of its guidance range. The increase in revenue was driven by strong sales of its System One hemodialysis machine for the home and critical care markets. Home revenue increased 18% to $38.5 million for the second quarter of 2014 compared with 2013. Critical care revenue increased 15% to $12.4 million compared with revenue of $10.8 million for the second quarter of 2013. In-center  dialysis revenue was $21 million for the second quarter of 2014 compared with revenue of $21.2 million for the same quarter in 2013.
