Dialysis provider have until today, August 29, to submit any questions or formal inquires to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services regarding clinic scores for the Quality Incentive Program's performance year 2012. CMS held an open door forum on Aug. 7 to review the data with providers.
The performance score reports can be downloaded at www.dialysisreports.org.
The reports show how each participating dialysis clinic in the United States performed in a series of reporting and clinical measures that are part of the QIP. The clinics are judged based on patient care provided in 2012. The agency announces payment penalties for clinics (up to 2%) in November, and the penalties are assessed against providers in 2014.
Once that data review is complete, dialysis providers can review the completed Dialysis Facility Reports, which will be made available on August 29. CMS says these reports provide a resource for characterizing selected aspects of clinical experience at a particular facility relative to other caregivers in the state, the clinic’s ESRD Network, and across the United States. Facilities may submit comments about their reports to CMS from August 29 through September 22.
