The renal community has several approaching deadlines on proposed rules and various CMS-directed clinic reviews.
Five-Star Rating System: Goes into effect in October. Dialysis providers have until Aug. 15 to review/comment on their rating at www.dialysisreports.org.
Prospective Payment System and ESRD Quality Incentive Program: Proposed rule for 2015 on payment to dialysis clinics and for the QIP payment year 2017 and 2018 were released on July 2. Interested parties have until Sept. 2 to comment on both rules before the final rule is released in November. Go to www.regulations.gov.
Medicare Physician Fee Schedule: Released July 3 and comments are due back to CMS by Sept. 2. Go to www.regulations.gov to submit comments.
