The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced that it plans to reopen the request for applications for the Comprehensive ESRD Care Initiative, or renal accountable care organizations (ACO), this winter.

"With this opening, we are particularly interested in creating opportunities for small dialysis organizations to participate and engaging with stakeholders on the quality measures and quality performance benchmarks for the initiative."

Updates on the  timeline for the new application period will be posted on the Innovation Center website as they become available, the agency said.
