CMS extends ESRD QIP reporting deadline for dialysis clinics
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have agreed to grant a one-time extension to the End-Stage Renal Disease Quality Incentive Program (ESRD QIP) deadline for reporting of calendar year 2012 dialysis events to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).
The agencies said they made the extension to allow dialysis facilities that enrolled in NHSN after CDC's operational requirement for enrollment (after Dec. 31, 2012) an opportunity to complete their dialysis event reporting requirements for the QIP payment year 2014.

All dialysis facilities now have until 11:59 pm Eastern Daylight Time on April 30, 2013 to report to NHSN three consecutive months of data for CY2012.
