American Society of Nephrology obtains highest ACCME accreditation

On Dec. 9, 2014, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education's Board of Directors elevated the American Society of Nephrology’s accreditation status from Accreditation, to Accreditation with Commendation. The distinction requires compliance with seven additional criteria beyond standard accreditation. With this designation ASN earns a 6-year reaccreditation period, and thus is accredited to provide continuing medical education for physicians through July 2020.

“This recognition is a testament to the high-quality educational products that ASN provides its members,” said ASN President Jonathan Himmelfarb, MD, FASN. “I would like to acknowledge the dedicated ASN Education Team, especially ASN Chief Learning Officer Phillip Kokemueller, Director of Education Jin Soo Kim, and Coordinator of Continuing Education Lisa Netha, for their efforts leading the reaccreditation process.”
