Healio begins live coverage of European ID conference
Healio will have live coverage of this year’s ESCMID Global, one of the largest medical conferences dedicated to infectious diseases and clinical microbiology in the world.
The conference, known informally for years as ECCMID, was renamed last year for the organization that runs it — the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) — and to reflect its global focus, organizers said.
This year’s meeting is April 11 to 15 at Vienna’s Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center. Virtual attendees have access to the platform and live broadcasts of individual sessions online.
The conference will continue its recent tradition of hosting an art exhibition featuring original artwork with a common theme. This year’s theme is climate change and infection. A list of artists and prize winners can be found here.
The scientific program, including a list of keynote addresses, can be found here. Healio readers can expect stories on bacterial infections, respiratory diseases, pediatric ID and antimicrobial resistance, among other topics. We also will be asking experts about the global impacts of some of the health-related decisions being made in the United States.
