SEATTLE — In this video, Sharon A. Riddler, MD, professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, talks about the results of a phase 1 study of a novel insert containing two drugs for HIV prevention.
The fast-dissolving insert, which can be placed in the vagina or rectum, would be a convenient option for patients who do not want to take a daily pill or get injections for HIV prevention, Riddler said.
“We think this might be a nice option to look at in the future,” Riddler said.
