Hooked on ID with J. Glenn Morris Jr., MD, MPH&TM
I grew up in Bangkok, where I saw first-hand the impact of cholera, dengue, malaria and other tropical diseases — and experienced the early waves of the seventh pandemic of cholera.
What I experienced during these years pushed me toward a career in medicine, with a focus on infectious diseases, and in particular, tropical medicine. From an academic standpoint, it has also driven my interest in epidemics and why epidemics occur.
