Healio marks 2 years of COVID-19 news coverage
Healio has produced more than 4,000 articles related to COVID-19 since January 2020, a number that continues to grow, according to a press release from The Wyanoke Group.
In its first article on the disease, Healio reported on the “emergence of an unidentified strain of pneumonia that has infected dozens of people since the middle of December.”

“The Healio news team has been committed to coverage of what would become the COVID-19 pandemic since before day 1,” Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, chief content officer of Healio, said in the release.
Since then, Healio has launched the award-winning COVID-19 Resource Center in February 2020 and the multi-specialty podcast “Unmasking COVID-19” in April 2020, providing multi-specialty discussion about the impact of the virus.
“The news team was uniquely prepared to cover the pandemic as they have vast experience in sustained, ongoing coverage (the opioid crisis, Zika and Ebola) of public health news and breaking news in medicine,” Stiglich said. “Coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic has been a mix of both.”
Healio will continue to provide medical specialists with the latest news on the disease, according to the release.
“With its rapid spread among populations and nuanced proliferations, COVID-19 continues to pose unique challenges and have far-reaching impact on health care providers worldwide. From monitoring disease variants to vaccine administration, Healio remains committed to providing health care providers with the information they need to stay informed in these challenging times,” the release said.
