The American Society of Microbiology (ASM) and Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) collaborated to launch a joint meeting this year called the World Microbe Forum, which combined ASM Microbe and FEMS Congress 2021.

“The global microbial sciences community has come together to put on something completely unique,” Jennifer Gardy, PhD, deputy director of surveillance, data and epidemiology for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Malaria team, told Healio in the video above.

Gardy said the meeting can be beneficial for researchers “at any career stage.”

“By bringing such a big pool of organizers from around the world together, I think we have created a meeting that has unparalleled breadth and unparalleled depth,” Gardy said.
