WASHINGTON — In this video from IDWeek, Amanda Jezek, senior vice president for public policy and government relations at the Infectious Diseases Society of America, reveals the hashtag for a Twitterstorm campaign to support vaccination.

From 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET today, Thursday, Oct. 3, Twitter users are invited to participate using the hashtag #WhyIVaccinate.

Employing the hashtag, participants can share personal stories about the importance of vaccines or facts and research that has inspired advocacy for this cause.

“Our advocacy on vaccines has never been more important,” Jezek said.

To help make the Twitterstorm a success, participants are asked not to use the hashtag prior to 1:30 p.m. ET. To follow along, or for more information, you can visit https://idweek.org/call-to-action/.

IDSA encourages everyone to use #WhyIVaccinate throughout the week to share vaccine-related stories and facts.
