PHILADELPHIA — In this video from the annual conference of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Karen Jones, MPH, RN, CIC, the clinical research project coordinator at the University of Michigan, discusses how limited infection prevention experience and turnover can pose a significant challenge for skilled nursing facilities trying to meet CMS mandates by the end of 2019.

“We suggest that leadership take a hard look at how they train these folks for infection prevention and control, and offer them mentorship in that position to retain them,” Jones said.
