VIDEO: Clinicians should be 'insisters' of vaccines to tackle this flu season
WASHINGTON — William Schaffner, MD, an Infectious Disease News Editorial Board member and medical director of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, discusses how importance the influenza vaccine is for preventing influenza-related deaths following a particularly severe influenza season. Schaffner participated in a press event to encourage individuals aged 6 months and older to get vaccinated annually to protect not only themselves, but the individuals around them. Schaffner was joined by U.S. Surgeon General Jerome M. Adams, MD, MPH, and other health experts to discuss vaccination and the importance of vaccinating children and pregnant women.
